Borussia Dortmund are keen to take back Jadon Sancho from Manchester United

Last season was a nightmare for all of us. Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League—one of the most humiliating finishes in history. The Europa League final loss to Tottenham took away the last hope. The pain of being out of European football was so deep that even the arrival of Ruben Amorim did not bring any relief. Amorim took charge in the middle of the season, but it was too late by then. Now the club are on the path of change, but the wounds have not yet healed.

The club started the summer with a tough decision. Leaving behind the old mistakes, Amorim has started showing the way out to the players who do not fit into his system. Marcus Rashford has already gone to Barcelona on loan. Some more big names are also in line. On the other hand, by signing players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United have given a clear signal that they are preparing for a new era. The foundation for the future is also being laid by bringing in young talent like Diogo Leon.

Is Jadon Sancho’s departure near?

Now another name is appearing on the layoff list, Jadon Sancho. Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s former club, are considering bringing him back this summer. Talks are also going on with Juventus. Chelsea took him on loan last season, and he scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 41 matches. However, his salary of £350,000 per week did not allow him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United are now ready to sell Sancho for just £17m. The club have reduced his price because the demand is not high. Amorim’s plan is clear—players who do not fit into his system will no longer have a place at Old Trafford.

From a fan’s perspective: Right time, right decision

Sending Sancho to Dortmund would be a smart move for United at this point. Sancho doesn’t fit into the team Amorim wants to build. £17m could bring in something new – someone who can give this team both direction and momentum, and most importantly, get rid of Sancho’s huge salary. This will help ease the wage bill and also create space in the squad. Youngsters like Diogo Leon can now play freely.

This move could also be a new beginning for Sancho. Dortmund was once home to him. It was there that he established himself as one of Europe’s top young talents. He is just 25 years old, meaning he still has time to prove himself again. The pressures of the Premier League and constant scrutiny were affecting the English winger’s game. Dortmund would give him the chance to play freely, regain his confidence and perhaps even open a way back to the England national team. As fans, we agree – this is the best time for both Sancho to leave and United to rebuild.
