Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez will return to the starting lineup this weekend as the Nerazzurri travel to Sardinia to take on Cagliari.

According to reports from the Corriere dello Sport, the Argentine forward has recovered fully from the back pain that resulted in him playing limited minutes since his return from international duty.

Martinez returned from Argentina suffering slight fatigue and pain in his back.

Therefore, Inter head coach Cristian Chivu chose to start youngster Francesco Pio Esposito in the matches against Ajax and Sassuolo.

The starlet put in two excellent performances, reassuring Inter that they can manage without their captain and star player.

There is no better time for the Argentine star to return to the starting eleven.

Cagliari are one of El Toro’s favourite opponents to play against.

In 2018, Martinez scored his first goal in Nerazzurri colours against I Sardi.

Furthermore, in eleven matches against Cagliari, Martinez has scored eleven goals.

This includes the current five-game winning streak against the Sardinians, in which the Argentine has scored seven times.
