Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has called on his teammates to show the same aggression and focus as Roma when the two sides meet tonight at the Stadio Olimpico.
Speaking to Inter TV before kickoff, via FCInterNews, the Turkish playmaker said he feels fit and ready after a productive international break.
“It’s been ten good days and I’m happy not to have picked up any injuries,” Calhanoglu said.
“Now we want to start again from where we left off.”
He expects a difficult encounter against a Roma team in strong form.
However, he emphasised that Inter are concentrating on their own game.
“Roma are doing well and they’re in good shape, but we’re only focused on ourselves. We know Gasperini’s style of play and we’ve prepared well for it.”
Calhanoglu concluded by underlining what will be key for Inter’s performance in Rome:
“It’s important for us to have the same aggression and keep our focus all the way through.”
Inter head into the match chasing a sixth straight victory in all competitions, with Calhanoglu once again at the heart of Cristian Chivu’s midfield.
Calhanoglu is set to start in the centre of midfield, alongside Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
INTER MILAN (3-5-2): Sommer; Akanji, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Bonny.
