It is not just Atletico Madrid showing an interest in Inter full-back Carlos Augusto, but Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the Brazilian.

There had already been reports that the 26-year-old was a transfer target for Atletico Madrid, who had been previously linked with Milan left-back Theo Hernandez.

Now FCInterNews.it suggest that Arsenal too have put Carlos Augusto on their wish list for the summer, after realising that Riccardo Calafiori is more suited to central defence.

Inter not prepared to sell Carlos Augusto

Much like the Atletico Madrid approach, however, Inter are determined to keep hold of the player and will resist any bids this summer.

He was purchased from Monza in 2013 after an initial loan for the full €13.25m fee and is under contract until June 2028.

This season, Carlos Augusto made 48 competitive appearances for Inter, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.

His versatility is key, able to play on the left wing or in central defence.
