Carlos Tevez has compared new Chelsea signing to Lionel Messi in huge compliments

Former Manchester City star Carlos Tevez has compared one new Chelsea signing to Lionel Messi in some huge compliments.

I guess as a football player in this day and age and across the last 15 years, being compared to Lionel Messi is going to be the biggest compliment you can get. There has been no better player in world football for me across that space of time.

So for new Chelsea signing, Facundo Buonanotte to be compared to Messi must be a very special feeling. And it’s even crazier because the compliments came three years ago when the player was very young and just coming up through the ranks.

Now he is a Brighton player but has just joined Chelsea on a dry loan for the season, which was a strange deal for Chelsea to do in my opinion. It looks like we are just developing a good young player for a Premier League rival, because all the power is with them come the summer if we end up wanting to sign Facundo.

Tevez compares Facundo to Messi

As cited on SPTC today, Tevez said about Facundo back in 2022:

“I watch football and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone play who gives me as much pleasure as. When he brakes and accelerates, he reminds me of Messi. He is at a very high level.”

Messi is the GOAT

This is always a debate for me, it’s Messi who is the greatest football of all time. There have been some incredible players who have been close to him over time, but Messi for me is the best we’ve ever seen and probably be the best we will ever see again.
