Zeki Celik limped off with a right thigh problem during the opening minutes of Roma’s match against Lecce and there are concerns he could be out for a while.
The versatile player was acting as a wing-back for Claudio Ranieri this evening at the Stadio Olimpico.
See how that game unfolds on the Liveblog.
He pulled up clutching his right thigh and then had to leave the field after attempting to play on for a few minutes.
Celik eventually limped off at the 24th minute and Sky Sport Italia report it is a right thigh muscular problem.
The more concerning detail is that the Turkey international was spotted with heavy strapping all the way up his right thigh.
This suggests a potentially serious injury that will require tests and it is very unlikely that Celik will be fit enough to feature in Thursday’s Europa League match against SC Braga.
Roma were already missing Artem Dovbyk against Lecce after he came down with flu symptoms, plus Bryan Cristante with a sprained ankle.
