Celtic have confirmed the singing of Japanese striker Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale. The 25 year old has signed a 4 year deal at the club.
Celtic have signed the player for £1.5m and whilst he is expected to join as a striker, there is an outside possibility that he is a right winger given that he has played there before. Celtic are needing to recruit out wide after Nicolas Kühn departed and the pacy Yamada could be utilised on the right side of a front three, similar to Daizen Maeda’s wide left role.
The club’s latest foray into the J-League market sees Brendan Rodgers attempt to add more goals to his squad. Compatriot Hayato Inamura arrived earlier this month to offer defensive cover for the returning Kieran Tierney. The Scottish Champions have also added midfielder Benjamin Nygren as well as attacker Callum Osmand and deputy goalie Ross Doohan arriving too.
