Celtic exploring move for Manchester United defender

Celtic are currently sat in second place of the Scottish Premiership, looking for a way to overcome Hearts who sit six points clear.

Should Celtic fail to topple Hearts, it’ll be the first time in five years that the club haven’t won the league title.

Looking further back, the club have only missed one league title in the last 14 seasons.

To help them, launch their attack, and defend against the opposition, the Premiership club have already brought in right-back Julian Araujo.

The 24-year-old Mexico international arrived from Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season, however he’s not the only defender the side have been eyeing up.

Their women’s team have also been looking to fight back to take the top spot, sitting seven points behind Glasgow City.

As such, Kathryn Batte of The Telegraph has reported that Celtic’s Women’s team are looking to sign Manchester United defender Evie Rabjohn.

Should Celtic land her signature, it’s likely to be on a free transfer, with Rabjohn’s contract coming to an end this summer.

With only six months left on her contract, it leaves the talented defender able to sign a pre-contract agreement ready to line up her next club.

The interest in Evie Rabjohn comes on the back of them reaching an agreement for Manchester City duo Poppy Pritchard and Tara O’Hanlon, who are set for loan spells until the end of the season.

It’s clear that new manager Grant Scott is looking to strengthen his squad, not just for the remainder of this season, but also for next year, preparing for his first pre-season training in a matter of months.
