Kyogo and Adam Idah sold for a combined £17 million, yet we have to rely on free signing Iheanacho and Johnny Kenny, whilst club signing Shin Yamada dwells on the sidelines.

We sold Nicolas Kuhn for another £17m and his replacement yesterday was (Birming)Yang, the first player ever to be giving a 0/10 rating by Sandman in his Definitive Ratings.

One of the reasons we failed to lay a glove on Dundee yesterday was our lack of threat in an attacking sense, indeed it’s a problem that’s plagued us since the campaign began.

A lack of goalscoring threat, particularly an instinctive poacher in front of goal is a major concern, and one we failed to rectify in the summer transfer window, which was all down to the amateur dealings and outright incompetence of our hierarchy. The feeble attempt to sign Kasper Dolberg simply summing up their shortcomings.

Funnily enough they were competent enough when it came to outgoings, world class stashing of a cool £24 million due to the sales of Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah.

Indeed they sold Adam without having a viable replacement lined up, which was even more unforgivable when you consider they sold Kyogo in January, and yet again no one was brought in to plug that gap.

Kuhn’s loss was at least offset with the signings of Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Sebastian Tounekti and Benjamin Nygren, although all three have still to prove themselves and NONE are capable of playing on the right wing.

Sp we’re still waiting on a replacement for Kyogo who contributed so much in the way of goals, whilst Adam however much stick he received still provided us with 20 goals last season and played a significant part in the double win from the previous season.

Incidentally it wasn’t the Celtic Board or the Celtic manager who shredded his confidence it was elements of the Celtic support. Be careful what you wish for green trolls.

That’s two players who were proven strikers, sold for a combined £17 million, yet replaced with a free agent, and a striker very much on the fringes in Johnny Kenny. Whilst the likes of Shin Yamada isn’t deemed good enough.

Is Johnny Kenny a better option than Adam Idah – you tell me?

Is it any wonder we are struggling in front of goal? It’s yet another glaring example of our board’s incompetence and Brendan Rodgers said it from his first media conference ahead of flag day against St Mirren.

If Celtic needed the money we’d get it. If Celtic didn’t have the money to sign players we’d understand. If there was no list of options available for the club to sign we’d ask questions of the football department led by Brendan Rodgers.

But if none of the above scenarios applies logically we must ask questions of the guy and his sidekick who claim to be world class in everything they do yet are the principals in this shambles of a season that is unfolding.

There’s little chance that Brendan Rodgers will be Celtic manager next summer, he will walk because of what he regards as a lack of ambition by the Celtic Board who have left the squad terribly under-equipped this season, especially down the right hand side.

On the left we have the players who need to find their form, KT and the new wingers aren’t doing it and that’s a worry. It’s all pointing in the wrong direction and as an elite manager Brendan Rodgers needs to set aside the board’s failings and instead make the most of what he’s got to work with.

The first thing that needs looking at is his system. I’d rather play the long ball game than the 3000 passes between McGregor, CCV, Scales and occasionally Kasper.

Put Engels back in the deep as a deep midfielder and push Callum forward with Reo.

Incidentally, hearing that the lifestyle is wonderful in Greece but neither the training nor the football are rocking the boot and a January return could be entertained. If anyone from the football department reads this tell the gaffer and tell him he’s welcome.
