It’s safe to say that, with the split now upon us, we are at the business end of the season for Celtic.
There is still a lot to play for, with many twists and turns along the way. It is very hard to call who will win the Premiership this season, with a lesser spotted three way title race on our hands.
The team would have a much better chance of retaining the league title if they can get some returning players back from injury. Well, it looks like that may well just be the case.
Indeed, as manager Martin O’Neill has confirmed that there will be a “bounce game” played this week, in order to try and get some players back up to fitness. “We will try to get a bounce game for some of the players coming back. That was the plan for Alastair Johnston coming back from his time in Canada.
We were going to organise that and it would help. We don’t want to rush people back but if they are feeling good and want to have a bounce game, that would be ideal.”
With Julian Araujo out for the rest of the season, being able to call on Johnston until the end of the season would be an absolutely huge boost, and could make all the difference for Celtic.
