If we’re still static in a few weeks time then by all means use your voice. But for now let’s have a little patience…

I’m no lover of the Celtic hierarchy as I’ve stated many times on The Celtic Star. Time and time again their lackadaisical approach to the recruitment side has left us very short in the playing department, so my view is that they are for the watching.

Yes they have us on a more than steady financial footing and we’ve all played our part in that, but it goes without saying that they are consistently unwilling to use that financial power to our advantage. When it comes to getting deals over the line it is quite staggering.

Consistently they have disappointed us, most recently in January when they failed to replace the gaping hole left by Kyoto’s departure, leaving the supporters feeling quite rightly frustrated or even in some cases furious.

This window however has started off rather promisingly. Kieran Tierney and Benjamin Nygren are two players who have been brought and will undoubtedly strengthen the starting XI. Ross Doohan has returned as third choice keeper, and the highly rated Callum Osmand has been brought in from Fulham, with Japanese Defender Hayato Inamura also arriving.

The likes of Scott Bain, and Gustaf Lagerbielke have also been moved on with Maik Nawrocki also leaving on loan to free up some space in the squad.

But it’s imperative that Brendan is allowed to bring in at least three more quality players to bolster our squad especially with the departure of Nicolas Kuhn and another £17 million burning a hole in our board’s pockets.

With three weeks still remaining until the start of the league season, we don’t need to panic just yet, as some have been prone to do.

Let’s have some patience instead, and if by the start of August we haven’t added to our squad by first team ready quality additions then by all means let your voice be heard. I certainly will be doing exactly that if we’re getting excuses and hard luck stories rather than top quality players in the door.

But for now patience is a virtue as we hope that good things come to those who wait.
