Long term Celtic target Michel-Ange Balikwisha is back starring for Antwerp and showcasing the talents that we currently lack in the final third…

The Belgian under 21 international has shrugged off the injury woes he suffered last season to become a star player once more for the Belgian Pro league side.

It’s been reported that it would take a deal of around £4.5 million to bring the player to the East End of Glasgow, and by all accounts he’s keen on the idea, so we have to ask why it is taking us so long to make our interest in the player more concrete by actually submitting an offer that is as near to the valuation as Celtic can force themselves to go.

Balikwisha boasts a superb goal contribution ratio from his time in Belgium’s top flight, he’s pacy and can play across the front three, just what we desperately crave as it’s evident that we are badly lacking a goal threat.

With Kyogo still to be replaced since his departure in January, Nicolas Khun gone a month ago, Jota out injured until sometime in 2026 with an ACL injury, and Adam Idah completely misfiring, Celtic certainly needs an injection of proven quality with attacking threat. And Balikwisha would almost certainly provide us with just that.

For heaven’s sake, just get a deal done, Celtic. It’s what we all want and exactly what the manager badly needs.
