Chelsea Confirm Signing of ‘Technically Gifted’ Attacker

Chelsea have announced another signing in this blistering summer window. Not happy with just Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and the arrival of Estevao, they have added yet another attacker to their ranks. The latest is a skilful winger who has received praise for his technical abilities.

Jesse Derry Confirmed

Jesse Derry has now officially joined from Crystal Palace. The young Englishman is just coming off a youth Euros campaign that saw his nation knocked out in the group stage. Despite that, it should be noted that he was playing up in age just a little, making it a rather impressive feat to make it into the squad.

Described as “technically gifted” the wide-man fits the profile of signings under Enzo Maresca who asks for a certain level of on-ball ability to make it into his side.

Crystal Palace Prospect

The 18-year-old has been making waves at youth level for the Eagles and looked at times, too good to be playing against certain opposition. He impressed in the U18 Premier League where he grabbed an impressive 19 goals and 4 assists in 23 appearances despite playing on the flanks.

He played and scored at youth levels for England before moving up to the U19 squad early in November of 2024. He has consistently impressed against his age group and made the step up to higher levels each time it’s been asked of him.

While he has very little experience of senior football he is at a team where the development squad will be more competitive than ever. With options like Gittens, Pedro Neto, Estevao, and even Cole Palmer ahead of him on the flanks he will be given time to develop and unleash his full talents. Whether that comes for the developmental side or out on loan remains to be seen.
