Chelsea have reportedly not changed their target for the season despite a new manager coming in and a dip in form.
Liam Rosenior came in to replace Enzo Maresca in January, and he actually had a pretty decent start as the new head coach at Chelsea.
However, things have turned sour and right now, it’s not even just about inconsistencies, Rosenior’s Chelsea have lost their last four games in a row, and it’s gotten more than gloomy as form has dipped as well as performances.
And it got even worse last night after The Blues lost 3-0 away to Everton in the Premier League as they see their fight for Champions League places take another major hit, losing their last two league games in a row now.
Nizaar Kinsella at the BBC has reported after the game that Chelsea have not changed their target. Rosenior was expected to bring stability post Enzo Maresca and the EXPECTATION remains that he qualifies for the Champions League. Chelsea risk not being able to attract key summer targets without UCL football into next season.
The manager claimed that it wasn’t a lack of effort or tactical mistakes that were costing Chelsea – but insisted he didn’t want to blame the players in the wake of the Everton defeat last night.
But Rosenior also blamed “mistakes” for the goals Chelsea were conceding – but we’re going to need a bit more than that I’m afraid.
