Chelsea are pushing for an experienced coach after the Liam Rosenior experiment failed – but one younger coach has been linked.
Now that Liam Rosenior has been sacked, we’re seeing the same names cycled around and around as potential successors. In some cases, it’s the very same faces we saw after Enzo Maresca was sacked, and some from the year before that, when Maresca came in.
But there are some new additions too. CaughtOffside have a fresh suggestion in the form of Matthias Jaissle, currently at Al Ahli.
The 38 year old came through the Red Bull football network, and despite having taking an early trip to Saudi Arabia, he’s surely keen to come back and have a crack at European football soon.
He doesn’t have the top level CV that the club are said to be looking for having seen their experiment with an up and coming coach fail, but he’s an interesting name for sure.
If we can’t get our priority targets – the likes of Andoni Iraola or Julian Nagelsmann – expect younger options like Jaissle to come into the frame more as the search expands out to include a bigger variety of candidates.
Behdad Eghbali has been named as the “driving force” behind the sacking of Liam Rosenior in the last 48 hours.
John Terry posted a video on social media casting serious doubt over the owners and their ability to run the club.
