Enzo Maresca’s side appears hesitant to pay the £85 million price tag for Ékitiké this summer. With that in mind, Chelsea have held initial talks about a possible move, though those discussions are believed to be only exploratory at this stage.
“Chelsea FC have submitted enquiries to Nick Woltemade’s management team. There have been talks,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CaughtOffside in his latest Fact Files column.
“The Londoners have been monitoring the striker for some time. Chelsea enquired about the contract until 2028 and were informed that there is no clause for an early transfer. Atletico Madrid are also interested in the striker.”
This week, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Manchester United have officially entered the race for Ékitiké, making contact with Eintracht Frankfurt.
They’ve expressed strong interest and gathered all the key details around a possible deal. Liverpool and Chelsea are still in the mix, but now United are firmly in the conversation. Frankfurt’s asking price stands at €100 million.
