Tottenham Hotspur-linked Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho could be subject of an official offer from Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking rebuild under Thomas Frank has already seen the high-profile arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich after he did well on loan in the second half of last season, but they may not be done yet.

This is because there are few forwards whose futures at N17 remain up in the air, most notably Son Heung-min. MLS outfit Los Angeles FC have upped their ante to sign Son Heung-min, who is into the final year of his contract. The South Korean icon is yet to make a decision of his future yet, while fellow forward Richarlison continues to be linked with a move away from Spurs.

After the North Londoners’ entry into the Champions League, Daniel Levy has shown ambition in the transfer market. If it comes to replacing Son, he will hope to bring in a burgeoning talent with high potential. As per reports this summer, Tottenham are interested in signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League as the exiled Manchester United winger seeks a fresh start. The youngster is not a part of Ruben Amorim’s squad and has no future at Old Trafford, and as a result, he has more suitors in the Premier League other than Spurs.

Chelsea likely to make an offer for Manchester United outcast

Chelsea are keen on signing Garnacho from the Red Devils this summer. According to a report from The Telegraph, the Blues have finished backgrounds checks on the winger and are expected to table an official offer before the transfer window slams shut.

Garnacho has made Chelsea his priority over other bids from abroad clubs as he prefers to stay in the Premier League. The fact that the Argentina international wants to join the Club World Cup champions will only serve as encouragement to make a bid. The Pensioners have sold Noni Madueke and Joao Felix this summer, so manager Enzo Maresca wants to replace them adequately in his squad.

But, the aforementioned report adds that the west Londoners also need to make sales or loan players out to create space for more attackers, with Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja among those on the chopping block, while Marc Guiu and Tyrique George likely to depart on loan.

Blow for Tottenham?

Garnacho preferring Chelsea as the next destination of his career should come as a blow for Spurs. The Argentinean is a dynamic, pacey and direct winger who can operate on both flank- qualities that would make him a great fit in Thomas Frank’s system. He could be viewed as a strong option to replace Son on the left flank, as well as adding quality depth to the Tottenham squad.

However, with the United outcast eyeing a move to Chelsea, the Lilywhites face an uphill task to persuade him to choose our project. As the Blues still have a few players to offload before proceeding with an offer for Garnacho, Spurs have a chance to make an early move by testing United’s resolve.
