Chelsea have released briefs making it very clear that Joao Pedro is not for sale this summer, despite Barcelona interest.

Chelsea are making it very clear that Joao Pedro is not for sale, and they’re going right to the top of the game to get their message out there.

Fabrizio Romano has just put out a message which sounds like it’s straight from the desk of our five sporting directors.

“Chelsea have been very clear with Barcelona: no intention at all to negotiate, discuss or talk about João Pedro,” Romano wrote on Twitter.

“Chelsea see João as key part of project, it’s not about bid/value. No intention to sell at all. Chelsea consider João untouchable.”

Chelsea have to hope JP stays in line when pressure rises

It’s comforting to see that people at Chelsea are pushing back against Barcelona interest. But the interest is there, and if the player decides to make a big fuss about it, things could get ugly.

Still, there’s no sign of him doing that yet, so we just have to hope it stays that way.

There will be some tricky decisions about who to sell this summer – the players Chelsea would like to get rid of are not the ones who are going to generate much money.

Joao Pedro spoke a little about why he prefers playing with some managers than other – he certainly looked better under Liam Rosenior than Enzo Maresca.
