Christantus Uche has been poised to move to the Premier League for much of the summer, and a transfer will now come to fruition. A deal to join Wolves fell through as personal terms could not be agreed, but he’s now on his way to London.

Getafe have been desperate to sell Uche due to their registration woes, which has prevented multiple players from featuring in their opening three matches of the season. However, these will be sorted with the departure of the Nigerian forward, who contributed one goal and one assist during the early stages of the 2025-26 La Liga season.

As per Diario AS, Uche has now agreed to join Crystal Palace, who will allow him to play European football for the first time in his career. The 22-year-old is already on his way to undergo medical tests, with Getafe having agreed a deal to sell him for €20m – the same fee that Wolves were willing to pay.

Getafe net huge profit from Uche deal

Last summer, Getafe signed Uche from AD Ceuta for a mere €500k, and just over 12 months on, they have sold him on for 40 times that amount. It is a fantastic piece of business from Los Azulones, who will now use these funds to help with their sustainability.

It will be interesting to see how Uche gets on in the Premier League, and there are sure to be many Getafe supporters keeping tabs on his efforts at Crystal Palace. There is sure to be a bittersweet feeling about him no longer playing at the Coliseum.
