Club ready to begin formal talks with Tottenham over summer transfer with £69m proposal

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window.

He was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, but it seems that cross-town rivals Real Madrid have now joined the race as well.

According to a report from Fichajes, they are looking to open formal talks with Tottenham for the 27-year-old defender, and they are likely to submit an opening offer of around €80 million (£69m).

The defender is thought to be keen on taking up a new challenge this summer. The opportunity to join Real Madrid will be quite exciting for him. They are widely regarded as the biggest club in the world.
