Cole Palmer has taken to Instagram to assure fans he’ll be back in action soon after missing Chelsea’s last two games.
Palmer pulled out of the win against West Ham in the warmup, and also missed the win against Fulham, with what’s believed to be a groin issue.
The 23-year-old hasn’t joined up with England, and is spending the international break at Cobham where he’ll be continuing his recovery.
Despite the Blues making five attacking signings, Palmer is still very much viewed as Chelsea’s jewel in the crown, and Joao Pedro has hailed him as a superstar.
There was a point in time where if Palmer didn’t play, Chelsea would be really against it and struggle to win games.
However, the Blues have shown against both West Ham and Fulham they can win games without the England international.
Chelsea of course are a far better team with Palmer in it, but there doesn’t appear to be an over reliance on him as there was in previous seasons.
There haven’t been many updates on Palmer, but he took to Instagram on Thursday and posted a series of photos with the caption “soon back.”
Palmer is expected to return to action after the international break, and could feature in the London derby against Brentford.
With Palmer potentially nearing a return to action, one player who won’t feature for a while is summer signing Liam Delap.
Delap joined the Blues for £30m from Ipswich, and started two of the first three Premier League games, but went off after 15 minutes of the win against Fulham.
The England under-21 international suffered a hamstring injury and is set to miss up to eight weeks, although there are some fears he could be out for longer.
