Contact made with intermediaries: Spurs want 'absolutely fantastic' star as priority signing

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign the Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers this summer.

According to a report from The Independent, they have made contact with intermediaries regarding a potential move. The 23-year-old is one of the best young players in the league, and he registered 30 goal contributions last season.

He was chosen as the PFA young player of the year as well.

According to the report, he could cost around £80 million this summer. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.

Morgan Rogers would be a superb signing

They have identified him as a priority target now after missing out on the Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. The 23-year-old midfielder is highly rated in England, and he has been labelled as an “absolutely fantastic” player in the past.

There is no doubt that he has the qualities to thrive at Tottenham, and he will help them improve going forward. He is capable of operating centrally as well as on the flanks. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and score goals as well. Rogers has all the attributes to develop into a top-class player in the Premier League, and he could be an asset for Tottenham in the long run.

Can Spurs convince Villa to sell Rogers?

Aston Villa will not want to lose a key player like him, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince them. The opportunity to move to the London club could be exciting for the youngster. He would get to experience Champions League football with them and fight for trophies. Tottenham have a talented squad and a quality manager like Thomas Frank. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Tottenham will be hoping to finish in the top four and fight for trophies. They will look to do well in the UEFA Champions League as well. They need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and Rogers would be the ideal acquisition.
