Hellas Verona defender Diego Coppola received his first senior Italy call-up and is now reportedly in talks for a Premier League move to Brighton and Hove Albion or Aston Villa.

Coppola was named in Luciano Spalletti’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Norway and Moldova.

This was a reward for his impressive campaign, which helped keep Verona in Serie A also with two goals in 34 appearances.

Coppola already attracted Juventus interest

A product of the Hellas Verona youth academy, the 21-year-old has also been previously linked with a potential move to Juventus.

However, Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà is pointing him towards the Premier League, as Brighton and Hove Albion are the favourites.

Aston Villa are also showing an interest in Coppola, whose price-tag is a minimum of €10m plus performance-related bonuses and add-ons.

His current contract with Hellas Verona runs to June 2027 and whatever his transfer would be the first move away from his home town.
