Newly-promoted Cremonese have completed several deals today, bringing Franco Vazquez back, and signing Romano Floriano Mussolini from Lazio.

They were the last club to secure their status in Serie A over the summer, needing to go through the play-offs to book their spot along with Sassuolo and Pisa.

It also means their transfer strategy was on a delay and is just now getting into full swing, especially with the arrival of coach Davide Nicola.

There were two deals completed today, although one was technically a return to the squad.

Cremonese do double deal

Vazquez had been with Cremonese since leaving Parma as a free agent in 2023 and his contract had been allowed to expire on June 30.

However, the Argentina international managed to negotiate a new deal and put pen to paper this evening until June 2026.

‘El Mudo’ Vazquez has scored 14 goals with 12 assists in 74 games for the team over the last two seasons and was their top scorer in Serie B last term with nine goals.

It is also now official that Cremonese have signed midfielder Floriani Mussolini on loan from Lazio.

There is an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
