Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr received very good news from FIFA on Monday, as the most important soccer body confirmed that it has lifted the registration ban for the Saudi club.

On Friday, Dec. 19, FIFA updated the list of clubs banned from registering new players, and Ronaldo's team was on it.

However, the ban has been lifted, and this represents great news for Al Nassr heading into 2026, given that the January transfer window is about to begin and Ronaldo's club will be eligible to sign new players.

Why Is This Important for Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo?

Currently, Al Nassr is in first place in the league with 27 points after nine games, but Al Hilal is very close behind with 23 points.

Ronaldo has not yet been able to win any titles since arriving in Saudi Arabia, and this year seems to have all the ingredients for the Portuguese star to finally lift a trophy in this stage of his career.

Al Nassr is also still competing in the AFC Champions League Two, which, although not the most important continental competition, could be a good opportunity to win an official title.

The Saudi club must be eligible to make signings, as the winter window can offer opportunities for the sports director to reinforce a squad that is already quite competitive.

Since Ronaldo arrived at Al Nassr, one of the most criticized aspects has been the club's inability to surround the Portuguese star with the necessary players. Although they have made very important signings, they are not always the profile that best fits a system built for the Real Madrid legend.
