Liverpool head coach Arne Slot stated on Friday that he will continue holding talks with disgruntled star Mohamed Salah ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Brighton.

It's unclear whether Salah will be part of Liverpool's squad against Brighton after the 33-year-old launched into a blistering criticism of Slot and the club following last Saturday's 3-3 draw against Leeds United.

"I can’t believe it, I’m very, very disappointed," Salah told reporters. "I have done so much for this club down the years, and especially last season.

"Now I’m sitting on the bench, and I don’t know why. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame."

Slot expressed that he would like Salah to remain at the club.

"I have no reasons to not want him to stay," Slot stated to reporters on Friday.

"I will have a conversation with Mo. The outcome of that conversation determines how things will look."

Salah was left out of Liverpool's starting XI for three consecutive matches before he was left out of the squad entirely for Tuesday's 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

He will join up with the Egypt squad on December 15 ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. Should Egypt progress deep into the tournament, he could be away from Liverpool through mid-January. The tournament final will be held on January 18.

Salah has scored five goals in 19 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool will host Brighton on Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The match will be streamed on Peacock Premium.
