Daniel Maldini has completed his transfer from Monza to Atalanta for circa €13m, with half of that fee going to his old club Milan.
He put pen to paper on the contract this afternoon that runs to June 2029, with a move worth €10m in the fixed fee, plus up to €3m in various performance-related bonuses.
The creative midfielder and support striker was a product of the Milan youth academy, where he became the third generation of his family to represent the club after father Paolo and grandfather Cesare.
The 23-year-old has two senior caps for Italy, both earned in October 2024.
Maldini went on several loan spells to Spezia and Empoli before the sale to Monza for €5m with 50 per cent of the sell-on fee going to the Rossoneri.
He had amassed three goals and one assist in 20 Serie A appearances so far this season, plus one Coppa Italia game.
Maldini scored 10 goals with two assists in 71 Serie A career matches.
