Sandro Tonali is now all set to leave Newcastle United as a deal has been struck to see the midfielder move to London.

Earlier today, it was revealed that the midfielder had rejected a move to Manchester City, instead favouring a move to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, David Ornstein has confirmed the move is all set to go.

The report from The Athletic confirms that Spurs are set to pay up to £100 million for the Italy international, with their previous £75 million offer having been rejected previously.

Now, the agreed fee for Sandro Tonali is set to be a club-record for Spurs, with an initial £92.5 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons being agreed.

This comes only days after Roberto de Zerbi’s new side agreed a £85 million move for West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes.

Unfortunately for Manchester United fans, Tottenham’s incoming duo were a pair of players being targeted at Old Trafford.

It’s well known that The Red Devils are looking to revitalise their midfield this summer, with Ederson having already been signed from Atalanta.

The move is just waiting on the end of the 2026 World Cup, where Ederson is competing with Brazil and new teammate Matheus Cunha, before being able to complete his medical assessment.

However, United are now missing out on several other targets from their reluctance to get into bidding wars, with Tottenham Hotspur on the warpath this summer.

Already Tonali and Fernandes have joined Spurs while Elliot Anderson is headed to Manchester City.

United are also looking to Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha and Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni, however neither have Premier League experience, something Ederson is also lacking.

As such, similarly to last season, it’s expeceted that Premier League experience is being targetted, with Alex Scott and Carlos Baleba being some of the only remaining names on the shortlist being able to bring that to Old Trafford.
