Manchester United are on the cusp of sanctioning their first major outgoing of the summer in the form of Jadon Sancho’s move to Juventus.

The winger has been in talks over a move for several weeks now after having few concrete offers to mull over in the aftermath of his Chelsea exit; they opted against activating his £25 million buy clause and even went as far as paying a £5m penalty to bypass the agreement.

Since then, Sancho has garnered interest from Napoli, Fenerbahce and Juventus, though only the latter has made a formal approach to begin negotiations.

Jadon Sancho sets sights on Juventus move

Keen to ply his trade in an all-new environment, Sancho green-lit the prospective Turin switch several days ago, leaving the ball in both clubs’ court to hash out the financial aspects.

United are keen to offload the 25-year-old permanently and finally put an end to his lacklustre Red Devils tenure before his contract expires next year. They have been demanding the same £25m fee that was included in his loan terms, but it’s Sancho’s wage demands that have deterred his suitors.

That being said, he has seemingly conceded that he can’t have it all his own way, as reports claimed over the weekend that Sancho would take a pay cut if it meant joining the Serie A giants.

Journalist Marco Giordano revealed on X/Twitter last night that the player’s transfer to Juventus has ‘never been so close’, with ‘everything settled’ between his agent and United.

Assuming all is finalised this week, Sancho will leave United with 12 goals and six assists to his name in 83 appearances.
