Debunked – Turkey Megastar Never Refused New Inter Milan Contract

Hakan Calhanoglu has reportedly never turned down a contract offer from Inter Milan despite recent speculation suggesting otherwise.

According to FCInterNews, the San Siro giants have yet to offer the 31-year-old a new deal.

Hakan Calhanoglu was the subject of wild transfer rumors last summer.

Indeed, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray tried to lure him away from Serie A but to no avail.

Instead, the former AC Milan star has cemented his starting berth under Cristian Chivu this season.

For context, he has already scored seven league goals, establishing himself as the division’s most prolific midfielder.

Calhanoglu’s current contract at San Siro runs out in 2027.

However, given his significant influence on Chivu’s tactics and dressing-room status, Inter are keen to offer him a new deal.

The Nerazzurri would ideally extend his contract until 2028 to avoid another rumor-packed summer.

Yet, they’re likely waiting for the summer to meet the player and his agent for concrete discussions.

Meanwhile, the Turk must focus on recovering from injury after muscle fatigue forced him off in Sunday’s clash against Napoli.
