Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly contemplating a last-ditch attempt to lure Hakan Calhanoglu away from Inter Milan.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the final decision rests with the new Nerazzurri boss, Cristian Chivu.

Galatasaray tried to sign Hakan Calhanoglu earlier in the summer but failed to meet Inter’s asking price.

Indeed, the Turks were unwilling to offer more than €10 million. Meanwhile, Inter were reluctant to sell for less than €30 million.

Therefore, the agreement was impossible.

Galatasaray Considering Late Swoop for Inter Milan Star Hakan Calhanoglu

Despite choosing not to comment on wild transfer rumors, the 31-year-old never closed the door to a potential move to Istanbul.

As a result, Galatasaray’s hope is still alive, especially now that clubs from Europe’s top-five leagues can no longer sign new players.

However, Calhanoglu remains central to the new project at San Siro.

Indeed, new boss Cristian Chivu intends to build his midfield around the former AC Milan playmaker.

Therefore, it’s hard to see Inter sanctioning Calhanoglu’s switch to Rams Park in September.
