Inter Milan have advanced talks for Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet, with the Nerazzurri pushing to complete both deals before preseason camp opens in Germany in mid-July, according to Di Marzio.

Gianluca Di Marzio posted the update directly, confirming meaningful progress on two of the club’s principal defensive targets as Stefan de Vrij’s contractual situation remains unresolved and continues to cloud the backline planning for next season.

The Solet deal has been the more structurally complex of the two. Udinese have been holding firm at around €25 million, while Inter’s most recent structured proposal sat in the €22–23 million range – a stepped-up approach from an initial bid closer to €20 million plus bonuses, typically framed as a loan with obligation to buy. As SempreInter reported in April, Inter had already met with Oumar Solet‘s representatives to establish the framework of personal terms, making the club-to-club gap the only remaining obstacle.

Provedel Fee Gap and De Vrij Uncertainty

On the Provedel front, valuation remains the sticking point. Lazio are understood to want around €5 million for the goalkeeper, whose contract at the Olimpico runs until June 2027, while Inter have been working toward a figure closer to €2.5–3 million. First formal contact between Inter and Lazio via Provedel’s agent was made on June 10, and the gap now appears bridgeable.

De Vrij’s unresolved future adds urgency to the timeline. With Barcelona’s interest in Alessandro Bastoni still circling at the margins of the summer, Inter’s defensive reinforcement plan carries additional strategic weight beyond simple squad depth.

The next meaningful step is a fresh club-to-club bid for Solet and formal exit-fee talks with Lazio over Provedel. Both deals need to land before the Germany camp intensifies preparations.
