Inter Milan midfielder Andy Diouf scored two stoppage-time goals to earn his side a 2-1 comeback victory over Karlsruher in a preseason friendly.
According to Africa Soccer via Football Italia, the French midfielder turned what had appeared likely to be a defeat into a morale-boosting win with two late goals.
Inter had fallen behind during the friendly, but Diouf restored parity in stoppage time. Moments later, he scored again to complete the turnaround and seal the victory.
The performance offered an encouraging sign for Diouf after a difficult first season in Milan, when his opportunities were limited.
The match against Karlsruher gave the midfielder an opportunity to impress as Inter continued their preseason preparations. His two goals in the closing stages delivered one of the standout individual displays of the match and underlined his attacking qualities.
While preseason fixtures are primarily an opportunity to build fitness and rhythm, Diouf’s contribution provided valuable momentum ahead of the new campaign. He will look to build on the display as he seeks a more influential role in Inter’s midfield.
