Eastern District officially sign former Manchester United midfielder

With Manchester United looking to improve in this summer’s transfer window, players that have previously played for the club are also making moves.

The Red Devils, aiming for Premier League glory once again in the upcoming campaign, released both Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia at the end of last season.

Whilst Malacia has stated that things are progressing with his next move, Casemiro has already completed his transfer to Inter Miami with him making his debut last weekend for the club.

For others released by the club, the search for a new side goes on.

Jadon Sancho is one of these, with him training at Flixton as he looks to try and secure a new move.

For those who left Manchester United some years ago, the prospect of a move this summer from their respective clubs still remains, too.

Former Manchester United winger Jack Harrison is one of these, with him joining New England Revolution ahead of the new season.

Now, Charlie Scott, who came through United’s youth academy set-up, has signed for Eastern District in Hong Kong with him taking to Instagram to confirm the move.

Posting on the social media platform, Scott published two photos of himself alongside a caption, which reads: “Very happy to have signed for @eastern_district_fc and to be back in Hong Kong.

“Looking forward to the new season and seeing everyone again at the stadium.

“Thank you for all the welcome back messages.”

Charlie Scott has previously played in Hong Kong with Happy Valley between 2020 and 2021.

The defensive midfielder has also had spells with Hamilton Academical, Altrincham, Newcastle Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Kitchee, Semen Padang, and Boeung Ket previously.

Focus for Scott will now switch towards preparing for the upcoming season in Hong Kong with his next season.
