Endrick approach made by Manchester United

Manchester United’s attacking options have taken shape as Michael Carrick continues to build his squad for the new campaign.

Benjamin Sesko is currently sidelined with an injury, although the striker is expected to return soon after an impressive debut season at Old Trafford.

Once fit, Sesko is widely expected to lead the line as United’s first-choice No.9.

That leaves the club with little reason to rush into another major striker deal unless a particularly attractive opportunity emerges.

United have previously admired one of Brazil’s brightest young forwards, with his development in Europe continuing to attract plenty of attention.

Manchester United approach Endrick

According to RMC Sport, Manchester United have now approached Endrick once again over a potential move.

The 20-year-old remains contracted to Real Madrid and appears increasingly likely to stay in the Spanish capital this season.

Endrick spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Lyon, where he produced 8 goals and 8 assists in 21 appearances, giving his stock another significant boost.

His performances were enough to earn him a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad, further strengthening the belief that he is ready to take another step in his development.

Endrick primarily operates as a centre-forward but can also play as a second striker or from the right wing.

United are not alone in admiring the Brazilian.

Roma and Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest, with reports previously suggesting those clubs could offer him a clearer route to regular first-team football.

There is, however, a major obstacle for any interested club.

Real Madrid have reportedly made it clear that they want Endrick back, while Jose Mourinho has given the youngster strong indications that he will have an important role to play in his plans.

That represents a major change from last year, when United and Villa were among the clubs linked with a loan move before stepping away after discovering that Madrid would not include a purchase option in the deal.

United’s renewed approach therefore comes at a difficult time, with Endrick seemingly being encouraged to fight for his place in Mourinho’s squad rather than search for another temporary destination.
