England captain predicted to land with Manchester United next summer

When Harry Kane left the Premier League to join Bayern Munich, he aimed to finally win a trophy. He achieved that goal last season, lifting the Bundesliga trophy after a season that saw him register 26 league goals and nine assists.

Kane has started the 2025-26 campaign in hot form as well. He's already registered three goals and two assists in Bayern's opening two games. Clearly, Kane is gearing up for the 2026 World Cup, where he will likely captain England in search of further glory.

However, with a trophy now secured, questions are starting to be asked over where Kane's ambitions lie, especially as the Premier League top goalscoring record remains within his reach. He needs 48 league goals to surpass Alan Shearer.

Kane is predicted to return to England after the World Cup

During a recent interview with Adventure Gamers, former Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann explained why he believes Kane will push for a return home after the World Cup.

"I think Harry Kane has a clause that allows him to leave for a certain amount next summer," Hamann said. "I believe the reason Bayern Munich wanted to bring Nick Woltemade in this summer was because many within the club think Kane wants to go back to England after the World Cup."

A return to the Premier League would allow Kane the opportunity to write his name into the history books. Becoming the top goalscorer would be his crowning achievement. And, now that he has a league title to his name (possibly two after this season), chasing that record could be his top priority.

Hamann predicts Kane lands with Manchester United

During the same interview, Hamann predicted that Manchester United could be Kane's next stop.

"I always felt or thought that a London club would be more favourable than a northern club, but obviously United is probably still the biggest club in England, and if they were to ask for his services, I think it would be fantastic to see him as their number nine."

While adding Kane was certainly a high priority for Erik ten Hag, things have changed. Ruben Amorim is building a young team he can mold into his image. The $98.8 million addition of Benjamin Sesko this summer likely ended any chance of Kane donning the Red Devils kit in his career.

Instead, Kane could head back to Tottenham or sign with another London-based club. After all, if he chooses to come back to the Premier League, he will want to continue contending for trophies. However, if a move doesn't materialize, Kane will likely have no issue continuing his time with Bayern, especially if it can once again begin contending on the European stage.
