Manchester United youngsters continuing earning international after another positive season.

For instance, Ayden Heaven was recently called up to train with the England senior squad following his breakthrough at Old Trafford.

Now, two Manchester United defenders have officially made their England debut.

England’s official match report confirmed that both Yuel Helafu and Albert Mills featured for England Under-18s during their 2-1 victory over Greece in Cyprus.

The pair both started the game for the Young Lions as England continued preparations ahead of next season’s UEFA Under-19 European Championship qualifiers.

Helafu started at right-back while Mills featured in central defence.

Both players were substituted during the second half.

The match itself saw England take the lead through Crystal Palace defender Dean Benamar before Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, netted the winner late on.

Both United players had already received international call-ups earlier this month after strong performances at academy level throughout the campaign.

The Red Devils even reached the FA Youth Cup final but unfortunately suffered a 2-1 defeat against rivals Manchester City.

Helafu has enjoyed an impressive rise through the youth ranks at Carrington.

The 17-year-old is viewed as one of the club’s most exciting young defensive prospects.

Meanwhile, Mills has continued developing steadily within United’s academy after several strong displays across youth competitions this season.

Manchester United have placed major focus on youth progression under Michael Carrick.

Several academy talents have been training regularly alongside senior players.

International recognition for academy players will only further strengthen confidence around United’s long-term project.

England Under-18s will now conclude their season with another fixture against Cyprus later this week.

Yuel Helafu and Albert Mills will both hope to remain involved as they continue pushing for bigger opportunities at both club and international level.
