It seems like just yesterday that Erling Haaland was a promising youngster at Red Bull Salzburg scoring against Liverpool at Anfield.

He has since gone on to become one of the best players in the world.

At time of writing, he boasts 286 goals in 356 in his career.

He joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and went on to score 86 goals in 89 appearances for the Bavarian side.

His success at the German club would earn him a move to Premier League side Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

It was an instant success for Haaland in Manchester, as he helped guide City to a treble as they became just the second team in English football history to achieve this feat.

Haaland was also a key part of this success, despite no goal in either the FA Cup or UEFA Champions League final.

He scored 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions, and finished second in the Ballon d’Or race that season.

His career at City has gone from strength to strength, with 149 goals in 169 games for the Citizens.

This make it all the harder for United fans, with it recently being revealed that Haaland could have joined the club when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was manager.

A move to United would have reunited Haaland and Solskjaer together after they previously worked together at Molde FK.

Solskjaer wanted to sign Haaland for £4 million back when the Norwegian was still playing for Molde, but this move was rejected by the United board.

They have both recently being pictured together, reunited after a few years away from each other.
