Erling Haaland’s problem has an Omar Marmoush solution

Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland remains the odds on favorite to win the Premier League Player of the Season award despite a recent surge from Manchester United star midfielder Bruno Fernandes, but the Norwegian sensation has hurt his cause recently by going a bit cold.

Haaland has scored just one goal with one assist in his last seven matches, and Manchester City are finding it hard again to feed Haaland with the right amount of chances.

But a recent victory over Newcastle in the League Cup semifinals shed light on a way that Pep Guardiola and Man City can help get the most out of the uniquely elite goal scoring exploits of their young No. 9.

Egyptian international Omar Marmoush once played a key role in the Manchester City team last season after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was literally neck and neck with the legendary striker Harry Kane as the Bundesliga’s best player.

This season, Marmoush has been an afterthought, but after a successful AFCON Tournament and after rebuffing transfer interest from clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Omar Marmoush is quietly being reintegrated back into the starting lineup.

Marmoush was the star of the show in the win over Newcastle, scoring twice while creating chances for his teammates and being an absolute handful in one on ones.

People forget that on his day, Marmoush is one of the most gifted forwards in the entire Premier League, and he is the perfect chaos machine next to Erling Haaland and can open up so much offense for the striker to score his goals.

Guardiola and Man City have to harness that going forward. Marmoush is too talented to leave on the sidelines, and his skill and explosiveness, as well as his own goal threat, make him the perfect Robin to accentuate Haaland’s Batman.
