Another gameweek of Premier League football is upon us. As Arsenal prepare to take on Manchester United and Liverpool gear up for an away trip to Bournemouth, here is our latest round of Premier League predictions.
Today, we’ll be taking on ChatGPT – we asked the AI service to name a winner and a score for each Premier League game over the course of gameweek 23.
West Ham United have been buoyed by a recent derby day win over Tottenham Hotspur, but Sunderland will pose an entirely different threat. For one, the Hammers generally struggle at home – furthermore, Sunderland are a well-managed team with a clear gameplan.
ChatGPT largely agrees with us, although its scoreline is different – we think Sunderland will pick up a 2-0 away win, while ChatGPT believes the Black Cats will register a 3-1 victory.
EF’s prediction: West Ham 0-2 Sunderland
ChatGPT’s prediction: West Ham 1-3 Sunderland
This is a tough one to call. Tottenham are in terrible form and Burnley showed last weekend that they are no pushovers – however, Spurs’ away form is strong and they put forth a great performance in midweek against Borussia Dortmund.
ChatGPT thinks that the Clarets can nick a draw against Spurs – we agree that it will be a close game, but Spurs’ superior quality should be enough to win the day.
EF’s prediction: Burnley 1-2 Tottenham
ChatGPT’s prediction: Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
We believe Fulham vs Brighton is too close to call. Both teams have enjoyed periods of good form this season, but have struggled to remain consistent.
As such, we believe that a 1-1 draw is the most sensible result to pick, but ChatGPT thinks that Brighton should be able to see off the Cottagers and win by a score of 2-1.
EF’s prediction: Fulham 1-1 Brighton
ChatGPT’s prediction: Fulham 1-2 Brighton
Here’s our first outlandish pick. Wolves have had a torrid time in the Premier League this season, but are now entering a spell of good form – meanwhile, Manchester City are in a tailspin. Wolves proved that they can go toe-to-toe with top teams when they gave Liverpool a difficult game – on top of this, City are coming off an embarrassing defeat against Bodo/Glimt, while Wolves have had a midweek rest.
ChatGPT has gone for the safe option here, predicting a 3-0 win for City. We won’t be quite so boring – we’ll pick Wolves to spring the surprise of the season over the Sky Blues.
EF’s prediction: Manchester City 1-2 Wolves
ChatGPT’s prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Wolves
Bournemouth are still smarting from the transfer of Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City – they have yet to replace him, and thus, their attacking impetus is limited. Against a team such as Liverpool, this is a death sentence.
ChatGPT also thinks that Liverpool will score an away win over the Cherries, but it has cited a score of 2-1 – we’ve gone for 2-0.
EF’s prediction: Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool
ChatGPT’s prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool
Brentford are one of the best teams in the Premier League at the moment in terms of form – Nottingham Forest, in contrast, are all at sea as things stand.
Therefore, this seems like a pretty simple pick – we’re expecting Brentford to record a comfortable 3-0 win over the Trees. ChatGPT has been a bit more conservative, predicting a 1-0 win for the Bees.
EF’s prediction: Brentford 3-0 Nottingham Forest
ChatGPT’s prediction: Brentford 1-0 Nottingham Forest
Crystal Palace enjoyed a great start to the 2025/26 season, but have since fallen off dramatically. Chelsea aren’t in the best of shapes themselves, but they should have enough quality to ease beyond the Eagles.
ChatGPT thinks that the game will be a lot closer than we do – we’re expecting a 3-0 win for Chelsea, while ChatGPT thinks that the Blues will win by a score of 2-1.
EF’s prediction: Crystal Palace 0-3 Chelsea
ChatGPT’s prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea
Newcastle United vs Aston Villa is a classic Premier League fixture – additionally, it’s also the hardest game to call from this weekend.
We’re in disagreement with ChatGPT over the result of this one. We’re expecting a high-octane 2-2 draw, while ChatGPT believes Newcastle will win by a score of 2-1. It makes sense, as Newcastle have had a midweek rest, while Villa were forced to play a Europa League game. Despite this, the Villans shouldn’t be overlooked – even if they’re not currently at their best.
EF’s prediction: Newcastle United 2-2 Aston Villa
ChatGPT’s prediction: Newcastle United 2-1 Aston Villa
Manchester United were fantastic when they defeated Manchester City last weekend – sadly for the Red Devils, Arsenal do not share the Sky Blues’ frailties. They’re a much more physical and defensively responsible outfit and they won’t play into United’s hands like City did.
Don’t count United out – they proved they can be a real threat against teams who play high lines. Nevertheless, we think the Gunners can grind out a win, while ChatGPT is expecting a slightly easier win for Mikel Arteta’s men.
EF’s prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United
ChatGPT’s prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Manchester United
Finally, we have Monday night’s game – both Everton and Leeds United have enjoyed bright spells this season, despite being tipped for relegation at the start of the campaign.
ChatGPT thinks that Everton will be able to use their home advantage to record a win – however, we’re a bit more wary of the Whites’ goalscoring prowess. To this end, we’re expecting this to be a 1-1 draw.
EF’s prediction: Everton 1-1 Leeds United
ChatGPT’s prediction: Everton 1-0 Leeds United
