Etta Eyong has emerged as a player of growing interest to Manchester United.

The club may have now received a significant boost in the race for his signature.

The Red Devils are expected to continue looking at attacking reinforcements this summer, with recruitment staff keeping a close eye on some of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

United have regularly explored the Spanish market in recent years.

One forward who has quietly built an impressive reputation is Karl Etta Eyong.

The Cameroon international has enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks after spells with Cadiz and Villarreal.

The 22-year-old eventually made his breakthrough at Levante.

His performances have not gone unnoticed either.

Barcelona have previously been linked with the striker, with reports suggesting the Catalan giants viewed him as a possible long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Manchester United’s interest is also far from new.

Back in October, reports claimed that United scouts had been monitoring Eyong as the club assessed potential options for the future.

Now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs on X, United may have been handed a major advantage.

Jacobs reports that Eyong is now prioritising a move to England despite attracting strong interest from elsewhere.

Two Premier League clubs have already made approaches to Levante.

Teams in Turkey are also actively monitoring the situation.

The reports adds that Levante are demanding more than €30 million for the young striker.

The Spanish club even accepted an offer from CSKA Moscow during the winter transfer window, but Eyong chose against making the move.

That decision could prove significant.

The centre-forward has is now seemingly focused on securing a switch to the Premier League.

Eyong finished the campaign with six goals in 31 senior appearances for Levante.

He also continued to establish himself on the international stage with Cameroon.

If Manchester United decide to turn their long-standing admiration into a formal move, the striker’s reported preference for English football could give the club an important edge in what is expected to be a competitive transfer battle.
