The 2025 summer transfer window has been slow going for Everton thus far, with the club only completing a permanent deal for Carlos Alcaraz, following his loan spell at the club. It appears the Toffees are edging closer to strengthening their attacking options, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Everton are now closing in on a deal to sign Thierno Barry, with personal terms agreed.

Everton Nears Signing of Thierno Barry

Barry Deal Close Following Calvert-Lewin Departure

The report from Romano details that the deal for Barry is in the final stages after personal terms with the players have been agreed. Everton Manager David Moyes returned to Everton and has stabilised the on-field turmoil, leading the club to a 13th-place finish. It’s expected there will be incomings and outgoings this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin recently announced he has left the club following the end of his contract: “After nine remarkable years I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision – together with my family – to begin a new chapter in my career,” Calvert-Lewin posted on Instagram.

“This isn’t something I chose lightly. Everton has been my home since I was 19 years old. It’s the place that saw potential in me, challenged me to grow and shaped me both as a footballer and as a man.

“I want to express my gratitude to all the managers and coaches I’ve worked with over the years and to my team-mateswho have become life-long friends.”

Qualities Thierno Barry Will Bring

Barry will bring plenty of ability to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. At 22 years old, there is plenty of room for growth, but he’s a talent who will give Everton an outlet.

He’s not afraid to use his body and create space for himself, using his “Silky Skills” or firing a shot off. He’s a presence, and following the departure of Calvert-Lewin, the Everton faithful will be keen for a striker they can idolise.
