Everton already have history when it comes to bringing in players who back their biggest rivals.

Back in 2022/23, they had Conor Coady on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was pretty open about being a Liverpool fan before that move.

Now, the Toffees are being linked with another player who has made no secret of his ties to Anfield.

BBC reports that Everton are keeping an eye on Harry Wilson amid his ongoing contract dispute with Fulham.

If Fulham cannot move him this month, they risk losing the Wales international for nothing when his deal runs out at the end of the season. The club originally paid £12m to sign him from Liverpool in July 2021.

As Wilson edges closer to a possible move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, he has spoken about his connection to Liverpool.

“I was just playing local football, I used to watch my Dad every Saturday with the local team. Then I had a trial at a centre in Chester with Man United, it was a six-week trial. At the end of that, we were told if it was successful we’d get a call. But the call didn’t come and then a few weeks later a Liverpool scout rang my Dad and said, we believe Harry had a trial at Man United, we’d like to have a look at him,” he told the Premier League.

The 28-year-old added: “My Dad was a Liverpool fan, which meant I was a Liverpool fan, we went to another centre in Chester, I was there a couple of weeks and they decided they wanted to sign me.”

This season for Fulham, Wilson has contributed eight goals and five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. Jurgen Klopp has previously called him “sensational.”

Several former Liverpool players grew up supporting Everton

While the Friedkin Group could soon bring a Reds supporter to Goodison Park, plenty of top Liverpool players have supported Everton at some point.

This includes Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, Ian Rush, Adam Lallana, Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen, and Steve McMahon.

The fact that a number of players have switched sides over the years shows how common it is for this to happen. So, there is no real reason for Everton fans to be upset about the idea of bringing in another one.
