Everton are one of the outfits aiming for success in the closing months of this year’s Premier League season.

The Toffees, ninth in the league currently, are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions although have drawn four of these.

Meanwhile, David Moyes’ side have won nine games this season whilst drawing seven leaving them six points away from Chelsea (fifth in the English top flight currently).

With this in mind, Everton may look to qualify for Europe at the end of this season which can be achieved through the correct results.

One way in which the Toffees could look to gain the correct results is through an improvement in their squad, which can be done through the transfer window.

So far in the window, the Merseyside outfit have not signed anyone whilst allowing goalkeeper Harry Tyrer to leave the club on a free transfer to League One leaders Cardiff City.

Now, the side have confirmed the signing of Tyrique George from Chelsea, via their official website, on loan basis, with an option to buy the winger at the end of the season.

Taking to their official site, The Toffees announced: “Everton have completed the loan signing of England Under-21 international Tyrique George from Chelsea for the remainder for the 2025/26 season, with an option to make the move permanent this summer.”

The statement continued: “George, an explosive and skilful 19-year-old who is capable of playing across the attacking line, joins the Blues on the final day of the winter transfer window and will be eligible to make his Club debut at Fulham on Saturday.”

Commenting on his move to Merseyside, George stated: “I’m really excited to be here and to enjoy this massive club. I just can’t wait to get started.”

He continued: “The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show. I want to be exciting and I want to impress them.

“The gaffer, David Moyes, was another reason [I wanted to join]. He’s an amazing manager who has coached so many players, like Wayne Rooney, and players like that. I’ve had a brief conversation with him and he’s an amazing person as well.

“I just want to enjoy it, learn under him and improve.”

The winger had been linked with a move to Manchester United in January with the Red Devils putting the winger on their radar for a potential summer move.

But, now, with a move to the Toffees, a transfer to Old Trafford appears unlikely.

Now, with the signing confirmed, Everton supporters may look to see how Tyrique George can perform in the remainder of this season and whether these performances can be enough to earn a permanent stay.
