Everton will face Crystal Palace at Hill Dickinson Stadium in their opening fixture of the 2026-27 Premier League campaign.
Since returning to Everton, David Moyes has helped steady the club, leading them to a 13th-place finish last season. They also came close to securing a spot in European competition.
Ahead of the opening fixture, the Toffees went 3-2-2 in their seven preseason friendlies and now face a Crystal Palace side that won the Conference League last season under Oliver Glasner.
Historically, Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with the Eagles. However, the Toffees have also failed to secure a point in each of their opening fixtures over the last four years.
Palace, meanwhile, will be aiming to improve on their 15th-place finish last season. The Eagles enter the new campaign following mixed preseason results, with three wins and three losses.
The Toffees will be without new signing Christian Norgaard due to fitness issues. Moyes confirmed his unavailability while also providing an update on Tim Iroegbunam.
“We don’t have Christian Norgaard fit yet. Jimmy Garner’s returning from a hernia operation,” he said.
“Tim Iroegbunam had an adductor strain and won’t make it tomorrow so I just have to hope that we have enough to get through at the moment with what we’ve got.”
Crystal Palace will also be without goalkeeper Dean Henderson after he suffered an ankle injury in the friendly defeat to Freiburg.
