Everton will play Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, September 6, in a Premier League clash between two teams who are only one point apart after their first two games.

David Moyes’ Everton remain unbeaten after drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth last weekend, while Michael Carrick’s Manchester United picked up their first win of the season with a convincing 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town.

Everton are only missing Christian Norgaard. David Moyes otherwise has a healthy squad to face his former club.

The Toffees are likely to stick with their attacking line-up, with Jack Grealish supporting striker Thierno Barry and others such as Tyler Onyango and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Manchester United have more significant selection concerns. New signing Carlos Baleba is not fit for his debut due to an ankle injury, and Amad Diallo and Manuel Ugarte are also not fit. Mason Mount and goalkeeper Tom Heaton are in doubt, while Luke Shaw is expected to be available despite minor muscle tightness against Ipswich, while Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined following back surgery.

Everton predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitalii Mykolenko; James Garner, Adam Armstrong; Anthony Johnson, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish; Thierno Barry.

Manchester United predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw; Kobbie Mainoo, Youri Tielemans; Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford; Matheus Cunha.

Carrick is likely to keep a lot of the same players that beat Ipswich, but with Baleba out, Mainoo may be able to stay in midfield with Tielemans. Shaw is likely to be fit despite being withdrawn late against Ipswich with muscle tightness.

Everton will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten run, while United will be hoping to build on their impressive win and keep rising up the early Premier League table.
