Striker Marko Arnautovic can hardly wait to return to the pitch for Inter Milan after coming back from a thigh injury.

The 34-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League group stage match against Red Bull Salzburg, via FCInterNews.

Arnautovic has finally returned from his thigh injury.

The 34-year-old former West Ham United, Stoke City, and Bologna man was out for right around six weeks. He picked up the muscle strain in a Serie A match against Empoli in September.

During that time, Arnautovic has missed quite a few matches for Inter.

The team have coped alright without the Austrian. But having him back is certainly a boost in terms of depth as well as giving the team a different option in attack.

Arnautovic had already begun to demonstrate what he can do for Inter in the opening weeks of the season.

The veteran striker even grabbed an assist on the opening day of the campaign against Monza. That was his first in a Nerazzurri shirt.

But the timing of Arnautovic’s injury curtailed his momentum right when he’ll have been aiming to start making a more consistent impact.

So now, the 34-year-old has the chance to start again.

And for his part, Arnautovic is very excited at the prospect of showing what he can do.

Marko Arnautovic: ‘Can’t Wait Much Longer To Get On The Pitch For Inter’

Of how much he wants to return, Arnautovic replied “A lot, a lot. I can hardly wait any longer.”

“It was a very difficult moment for me,” he admitted. “Being out for six weeks isn’t easy for a player.”

“Now I’m not thinking about the past, just about the future,”

“I’m very happy to be with the team,” the Austrian said.

And of competition in attack, Arnautovic said that “We’re all playing for our teammates. We’re a team and we want to help each other to win.”
