Both supporters and the coaching staff were alarmed when Benjamin Sesko hobbled off during United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

CentreDevils reported how Benjamin Sesko was made to come off by the medical staff and coaches during the Tottenham Hotspur clash, with the attacker deemed physically unfit to continue at that time.

Noussair Mazraoui left the pitch to be replaced by Sesko, with Amad shifting to his usual right wing-back position to add more of a threat in the final third.

The club are insistent that this was the right decision for the Slovenian to leave the pitch, as if he carried on, he could’ve risked a further serious injury.

We also reported that Sesko’s injury is still described as “not major” despite reports, and he has reacted well to recovery in the last week. The Slovenian has been a huge miss for Ruben Amorim’s side, scoring only three goals in his last three games since his absence. We can reveal an update on his injury now.

CentreDevils understands that Benjamin Sesko has returned to individual grass training and is doing on-grass ball work with a coach as he steps up his recovery.

The 22-year-old is getting closer to a return, with staff happy with his rehabilitation process so far.

His addition will be a real boost to Amorim’s side.

The Africa Cup of Nations is around the corner, which will lead to Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui all departing.

This will leave the Red Devils short on numberes especially in the final third.

Matheus Cunha is just returning from his minor head injury.

Joshua Zirkzee has started the last two games and has scored one goal.

The 22-year-old’s return will be massive to the team in what will be a challenging next few weeks and months.
