This weekend Manchester United are travelling to London to take on Tottenham Hotspur in their first meeting of the 2025/26 season.
Last season the two teams faced off on four occasions, with Spurs winning every time, completing the double over United in the Premier League, as well as knocking them out of the Carabao Cup in the Quarter-Finals and winning the Europa League finals.
Now, United have the chance for revenge with their trip to take on Thomas Frank’s side, having already named their travelling squad for the match.
As expected, most of the team have remained the same for the trip down south, however one of United’s big names has been left out in the form of Kobbie Mainoo, with Jack Fletcher travelling in his place.
Now, CentreDevils can reveal that Mainoo’s absence is down to a “minor” injury after picking up a knock in training.
It’s understood that Mainoo will be working hard on his recovery to get fit once more to work his way back into the squad.
Thankfully this season, Ruben Amorim has managed to get to November somewhat unscathed by injuries, with only a few minor knocks like this one with Kobbie Mainoo.
However in his place is Jack Fletcher, son of club legend and Under-18s manager Darren Fletcher, being called up after routinely impressing for the Under-21s.
If Fletcher does take to the pitch this weekend, it would mark his senior debut for The Red Devils after having taken a seat on the substitutes bench on seven occasions last season.
