Exclusive: Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo included in Everton matchday squad

Since injuring his ACL during a Premier League match against Crystal Palace on February 2, 2025, Lisandro Martinez has been essentially sidelined for a whole year.

The Argentine underwent surgery shortly after, and for the past few months, he has been going through a rigorous rehabilitation programme under the guidance of United’s medical staff.

CentreDevils exclusively reported three days ago that the Argentine is expected to return to the Manchester United matchday squad against Everton.

Another injured player is his teammate Kobbie Mainoo.

We also revealed Kobbie Mainoo returned to group training on Saturday and is now in contention to return to the Manchester United squad.

We can reveal an update on both their availabilities ahead of the upcoming game.

CentreDevils understands Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez are both set to return to the Manchester United squad today against Everton.

Mainoo has only started one game this entire campaign so far, which was in the Red Devil’s EFL Cup loss to Grimsby Town.

The midfielder was out with a knock in the Red Devil’s last game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Since arriving from Ajax in 2022, Martinez has made 91 appearances for Manchester United, contributing three goals and helping the club lift both the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.

CentreDevils revealed in October how he flew out to Dubai to do some warm-weather physical training as part of a designated training programme by the club themselves.

Many insiders have been pleased by the Argentine international’s work ethic and tenacity, as he has been training nonstop in Carrington for the past few months in preparation for his return to the squad. 

It is also a massive boost to see Martinez back in the squad, with it being nearly 300 days now since his last matchday inclusion.
